Kitted allows you to rely on the years of outdoor experience and industry relationships of our Product Buyers to handpick items that are best suited for the season ahead..

Kitted makes selecting outdoor gear and apparel not just convenient, but effortless. Like other online retailers, Kitted saves you a trip to the store by shipping items directly to you. Our Product Buyers also save you the time and trouble of researching and selecting the best items for each activity and category.

With Kitted, the great outdoors is your dressing room. We encourage you to try everything on and test the gear to make sure you’re a fan of it (and the activity) before making a purchase.

Returns are easy. Simply place the items you can live without into the prepaid mailing envelope and drop it with the appropriate shipping carrier. There are no additional shipping charges!

Bottom line, with Kitted convenience is delivered. No stores, no lines, no research, no commitment, no subscription required.

Kitted Customers pay a curation fee of $25 each time they build and confirm a Kit for shipment. The curation fee is then applied to any purchase from the Kit that exceeds $100. Members can earn additional discounts based on the value of what they choose to keep. Keep $200 or more, get 5% off. Keep $350 or more, get 10% off. Keep $500 or more, get 15% off.
During the seven-day testing period after receiving a Kit, simply log into your Kit Account to let us know which items you’ll be returning. These items then can be returned with a prepaid shipping label at no additional cost. Once you’ve checked out in your Kit Account and let us know which items you plan to return, you’ll have seven business days to ship back the items you've told us you'll return using the shipping label provided in your Kit. If a return scan from the carrier isn't shown within seven days, you will be charged for all of the products in your Kit.
Because our members’ activities are varied, our Kits cater to a wide range of products that align with an outdoor lifestyle. We work to curate not only the essentials, but additional items that are relevant for each specific activity. Collections, activities, and products will be refreshed each season to help you stay outside all year long as well as try out gear for new activities you’ve yet to experience.
We carry a wide range of inventory that allows us to choose pieces that’ll be perfect for your active outdoor style. However, we currently offer adult sizing only (no kids or junior sizing available).
We currently carry women’s sizes XS - XL, and men’s sizes S - XXL. We’re always working to increase our range of sizes so that we can deliver great selections to more members.
We currently ship to all 50 US states. Kitted service is not available for shipment to US territories, military addresses (e.g. APO or FPO), nor international addresses.
Nope, there is no subscription to be a part of Kitted. Charges on your credit card will align with transactions that you place (e.g. ordering a Kit or keeping items out of your Kit). There is no fee to shop and explore the collections. You can build as many or as few Kits as you'd like each season.* This is your Kit, on your schedule.

*Members can have one Kit out at a time.

FAQ Gear Up Give Back ™ Program


Getting new items from Kitted could mean that older pieces get retired to a bin in the garage or, worse yet, a landfill. Don’t do it! Cairn’s Gear Up, Give Back program launched in 2018 in partnership with The Gear Fix, a used gear repair and sale shop. Simply send in your pre-loved items to the Gear Up, Give Back program where it will be repaired and sold, with net proceeds benefiting Outdoors for All.
Simply place your pre-loved items in your Kitted box (along with any Kitted products, if any, that you’d like to return) and send it back with the enclosed pre-printed shipping label. Need more room or don’t have Kitted packaging? Order a Gear Up, Give Back kit here here.
Send in gear or apparel from high quality outdoor brands. It’s ok if the items are in need of minor repair. You can see a list of examples of items and more details here here.

FAQ Billing


When you build and confirm a Kit to be shipped to you, a $25 curation fee will be charged. That curation fee will be credited toward any purchase from the Kit that exceeds $100. After your Kit arrives, you have one week to log into your Kitted account to purchase the items you’d like to keep and let us know if there are any items you’ll be sending back. If you do not check out on your own within this 7-day window, you'll be automatically checked out at the end of it.
If you select a Kit to be shipped to you, but opt to return them all, your $25 curation fee will not be rolled over. If you decide not to keep anything this time around, make sure to leave feedback for each item when you process your return so we can improve our picks for future Kits.
You have one week to check out after receiving your shipment. If you don't check out on your own within that 7-day window, you'll be automatically checked out for 100% of the items in your Kit.

You have one week from the time of checkout for the carrier to scan your return tracking label. If there are no scans on your return label within this seven day window, you will be charged the balance due for keeping all items in your Kit. Returns will not be accepted after this window.
No problem! You don’t have to do a thing. Kitted memberships are free and you won’t be charged the $25 curation fee until you build and confirm a Kit for shipment.
Yes! We'll match any published price (the price currently listed on an authorized, US-based retailer's website) for an identical in stock item (same size, color, year) in new condition. If you find a better price on one of our competitor's sites, contact us at orders@getcairn.com within 48 hours of placing your order with the URL and screenshot of the item with pricing on the site, and we'll credit your card the difference (auction sites do not apply). Notifications more than 48 hours after checkout purchase will not qualify. **Note: Price matching may affect your discount tier and total refund amount.

FAQ Scheduling


Collections will be refreshed seasonally. Build a Kit whenever you want, as many times as you want each season (one Kit per member at a time). Quantities of certain sizes and styles may be limited, so don’t dilly dally if there’s an item you’ve got your eye on.

FAQ Returns

We curate limited quantities and variations in each item. We will do our best to accommodate size exchanges, but can't guarantee that exchange options will be available. Size exchange requests or questions can be handled individually, simply email us at kitted@getcairn.com.
First, log into your Kitted account, let us know which items you plan to keep, and provide feedback on those you'll be returning. There's no need to wash any of the items you tried, but please try to return them with all packaging and tags (even if they've been removed). If you were provided a poly-mailer in your Kit and your return items fit in it, please use that, along with the return shipping label to ship them. If you weren't provided a poly-mailer or your items don't fit, simply return them in the Kit packaging using the provided return shipping label. There are no additional fees for return shipments.
If you'd like to make updates to your Kitted account, including billing and shipping information as well as activity and demographic updates, you can now make all of those updates in your Kitted account!
If an item is returned in completely brand new condition, it is placed back into Kitted inventory and made available for other adventurers to add to their Kits. If an item is returned in anything other than brand new condition, it moves on to our consignment partners that are experts at finding loving homes for pre-loved goods.
